Abstract
In this paper, a calculation of the optimal generation for minimizing the system loss using the loss sensitivities derived by angle reference transposition has been presented. The system loss can be minimized when all generators are being operated with equal loss sensitivity. And the loss sensitivities for all generators, including the slack bus, can be derived by specific assignment of the angle reference on a bus where no generation exists. And by substituting these loss sensitivities, the optimal generation allocation for minimizing the system loss can be directly obtained. The loss minimization has been tested on a sample system.
