Abstract
The advent of the microprocessor has drastically changed the job requirements of engineers, technologists, and technicians. The emphasis has shifted from hardware electronics to the combination of hardware and software. As a result, fields such as electronics and computer science will begin to merge and new disciplines will be established. The piecemeal approach of designing and adding one course at a time to the existing curriculum is no longer adequate for two-year degree programs. This short note proposes a new degree program in computer technology at the two-year level. The note includes new job requirements, objectives of the program, and a curriculum design.
