Abstract
UK research into the design of multivariable controllers for gas turbines has been under way for several years. The results of simulation and engine test evaluations have been reported by Sutton (1991), and Shutler and Betteridge (1994). This article focuses on one aspect of multivariable controller design which is that of selecting outputs for closed-loop feedback control; this process is often referred to as control configuration design.<>
