Undergraduate communications training in venezuela-a ten year experience

The University of Carabobo, Valencia, Venezuela, graduates electrical engineers in a five year program, wherein students become specialized through electives and write a thesis. One of the areas of specialization is communications. At the end of the 1960´s, a dynamic program was developed in order to fulfi the growing demand for communications engineering in this fast developing country. This paper describes the evolution of the program, the goals obtained, and the trends for the 1980´s.
