Abstract :
A hybrid 2-D/3-D numerical method is introduced to analyze the ion-flow field around the metal board house near a bipolar high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line. First, a 2-D method is used to obtain the ion-flow field without the house. Then, let the 2-D results at a distance from the house be the boundary conditions of the 3-D calculation. Finally, a simple 3-D method is used to analyze the field in the vicinity of the house.
