Abstract :
A relatively inexpensive computer interface with an electric machines laboratory is described. This interface permits a number of experiments which could not be performed otherwise. Three such experiments are described in this paper: an interactive phasor diagram of the synchronous machine model, the dynamic buildup of speed of a dc motor, and the electomechanical oscillation of a synchronous motor.
