Abstract
An analysis has been developed to calculate the susceptance due to a wide resonant strip on the transverse plane of a rectangular waveguide. The theory is based upon a variational form for the susceptance, where the current distribution is determined by the moment method. Accurate results have been obtained for the wide strips as confirmed by the measurements
