Abstract :
A new adaptive shrinkage de-noising algorithm for images based on the neighbourhood characteristics is presented. This algorithm determines the shrinkage thresholds according to the neighbouring coefficients and the noise level. The experimental results show a great improvement with respect to the standard wavelet shrinkage algorithms
