Abstract :
A novel time-domain semidigital approach for frequency demodulation is described. This conceptually simple method, utilizing a couple of engineering approximations, has excellent linearity for small frequency deviation, an undeteriorating sensitivity even for very small frequency deviation, is self-timed and is highly suitable for circuit integration; however, with the present day circuit technology, the usefulness of the method is limited to low frequency FM only.
