Abstract :
The authors present crosspolarised radar clutter measurements of forested hills at large bistatic angles and grazing incidence. The mean NRCS of foliated trees is -46 dB for both vertical-transmit-horizontal-receive (VH) and horizontal-transmit-vertical-receive (HV) antenna orientations. Polarisation ratios for vertically and horizontally polarised incident fields are -7.4 dB and -2.0 dB, respectively
