    The 16 papers in this special issue focus on the growing field of computational neuroanatomy. Some of the topics covered include: new work on deformable geometry and surface-based anatomical modeling; analysis of anatomical shape, with applications to disease classification and computer-aided diagnosis; new types of statistical analyses of structural brain images; and image registration.
