Abstract
In this paper, the improvement of magnetic properties of oriented electrical steel sheets has been examined by using a laser irradiation system. It is well known that magnetic properties in the rolling direction of oriented electrical steel sheets can be improved by applying laser stress into the surface of the steel sheets. However, the laser stress effect to 2-D vector magnetic properties, which can consider the anisotropy of magnetic properties, has not been revealed. Therefore, vector magnetic properties are evaluated in detail after applying laser stress, and the rotational iron loss can be reduced by laser stress. This paper presents the detailed measured results and discussions on the effect of laser stress to the 2-D vector magnetic properties of oriented electrical steel sheets.
