Abstract :
A baseband signal processor for 1 Gbit/s pulse quaternary modulation (PQM), a pulse modulation format, has been developed and tested. A coupled stripline network is implemented for signal formatting, along with a frequency/phase tracking pulse demultiplexer which reduces predetection bandwidth and interpulse interference. Measured BER performance is presented along with computer simulation predictions.
