Abstract :
Analysis and results for the problem of computing the eddy current losses of infinite and finite length conducting (linear) magnetic cylindrical shells subjected to time harmonic magnetic fields which are either parallel to the axis of the shell (TE-mode) or transverse to the axis (TM-mode) are presented. The infinitely long case is treated analytically while the finite length case is treated numerically by the method of volume integral equations. Computed and measured results related to practical applications are presented
