Abstract :
The `ripple field´, i.e. the variation of the magnetic field for different positions of a moving part of an electric machine, can be computed accurately using the `sliding surface mesh model. The spurious ripple solution for this model is by a factor of O(h½) lower than for the models involving mesh distortion (h is the mesh size). Theoretical error analysis and numerical results are presented
