Abstract
The transverse field components based on a transverse operator formulation is described for studying general propagating structures with transverse inhomogeneity and anisotropy. The use of a spectral-domain like field expansion leads to a numerically efficient analysis tool. The theoretical results on both anisotropic lossy dielectric image line and ferrite-loaded rectangular waveguide show good agreement with previously published results
