Abstract :
This paper describes a simple numerical method based on the finite element method for the analysis of the resonant frequencies and external Q values of a waveguide loaded cavity. The present method solves a second order proper equation with a damping term, which can be reduced to a linear one. It is shown that the present method provides reasonable resonant frequencies and corresponding Q values for a wide range of electromagnetic coupling
