Abstract :
An all-optical asymmetric Fabry-Pe´rot (AFP) switch when operated in a spin-polarization scheme (SPS) is theoretically investigated in comparison with a conventional AFP switch. Simulation results reveal that when combined with the SPS, the AFP switch must be redesigned to obtain higher on-off ratio and higher switching efficiency. An additional advantage of the optimized AFP switch is the increased tolerance of a high on-off ratio to input signal energy.
