  • Abstract
A digital spectrometer system for the analysis of arc-discharge plasmas is presented. The method of time-resolved optical spectroscopy is used. The spectroscopic system consists of a grating monochromator and an optimal multichannel analyzer. The time resolution is made possible by sweeping an optical spectrum across the cathode area of an enhanced vidicon tube. A time resolution of about 50 μs is obtained. A theoretical method for the evaluation of the plasma temperature is discussed
