Abstract :
The Earth is a tremendously complicated series of atmospheric, oceanic, geologic, and biological processes all working together. Science is striving to create the ultimate closed ecosystem by replicating these dynamic forces on a microcosmic level. From this research, science will gain tremendous knowledge about how to lower costs and add aesthetic appeal for long-term space flight. Also, these microcosms can be used in areas on Earth, possibly as an important agricultural weapon against eroding farmland. Under ideal conditions, these different environments can be transplanted to other regions on Earth or even space
