Abstract :
The in-bore continuum emission spectrum, laced by absorption lines, is observed to be completely cut off for wavelengths shorter than about 3000 Å. This cut off wavelength is seen to occur at longer wavelengths as the plasma armature moves down the launcher bore. A mechanism for the absorption of shortwave radiation by ablated and evaporated bore materials is given
