Abstract
Previous studies have indicated that the B2 and DO3 type superlattice structures in Sendust are more closely related to the soft magnetic properties than is commonly believed. Various heat treatments were used to produce Fe3 Al alloys of varied degrees of order, and the magnetic anisotropy constant K1 , permeability ¿, and coercive force Hc were measured. Whereas K1 was the same for lattice ordering at room temperature, Hc strongly reflected differences in lattice regularity. Samples with a high degree of order exhibited good soft magnetic properties.
