  • Abstract
Fe3Al alloys with a relatively stable dual-phase range α + B2 and α + DO3) were produced and the magnetic properties studied, to determine the effect of α phases on Sendust soft magnetic properties. The crystal magnetic anisotropy constant K1 was found to change for different phase combinations; its absolute value was smaller for alloys with α + DO3 than for α + B2. Electron micrographs showed maze-like structures of scale 1 μm or less in the dual-phase material. Further studies of the effect of such dual-phase structures on magnetic properties are underway.
