  • Abstract
To test a model for the magnetically inhomogeneous structure in Fe65Ni35 invar alloys, according to which paramagnetic clusters are formed in Fe-rich regions, a polarized neutron scattering device was used to measure the polarized neutron small-angle scattering in natural (Fe65natNi35) and isotopic (Fe6562Ni35) samples. Measured deviations from average scattering amplitude densities coincided with values predicted on the basis of the model, and provided information on the shapes of the paramagnetic clusters.
