Abstract :
High-speed switching in bipolar-type pulse-triggered power transistors using an ultra-small nonmagnetostrictive amorphous core were reported. High-speed turn-on and turn-off operation was obtained by raising the self-oscillation frequency to 380 kHz. The electrical loss versus switching frequency characteristic was determined, and a large safe operating area was verified. Potential applications of such PTPTs are as power transistors and in inverters and static switches.
