Abstract
The theory behind selective passive compensation is outlined, and results are presented of the computer simulation of a railgun powered by a selective passive compulsator. These results show that a compulsator can be configured to produce flat-topped current pulses into a railgun load. A test compulsator with active compensation has been designed and built. This has since been reconfigured with selective passive compensation to verify the production of flat-topped pulses into a fixed load. Experimental results obtained are presented, and a comparison is made of these results with predictions from the computer model
