Single-Edge Sensitive Single-Pole Head

To suppress dips in recording density characteristics during reproduction of perpendicular recorded signals, the possibility of a read head with high sensitivity at the waveform trailing edge, and low sensitivity at the leading edge (single-edge sensitive) was studied. Through enlarged model experiments, the possibility of such a head was verified; an increased output may be expected by making the field edges sharper.
