Abstract :
A block matching algorithm for fast motion estimation based on partial block distortion is presented, which can reduce the computational complexity and provide accurate motion vectors. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm offers a performance very close to that of the full search scheme and is about 18 to 22 times faster.
