Abstract
Conventional designs for the time-multiplexed space-division switch used in PCM switching networks employ spatial redundancy (duplication) to assure adequate reliability. An alternative technique is described which employs a combination of coding redundancy and holographic temporal scattering to achieve reliability without duplication.
