Abstract :
A new transmission line model is proposed for computing the input impedance of an electromagnetically-coupled rectangular microstrip patch antenna. It allows one to approach final design parameter values quickly because it involves little numerical work, then to switch over to the EM simulator at hand depending on required accuracy. Simulations using this model compare well with experimental data.
