Abstract :
The authors substituted Y for the rare-earth (RE) element in RE-TM films and studied the changes in the anisotropy of the RE atoms and the magnetic characteristics of the films. Gd substituted for Y tended to increase Ms. All of the films studied had amorphous macroscopic structures as determined by X-ray analysis.
