Abstract :
An experimental noncontact mechanocardiograph sensor was made using an amorphous-core multivibrator sensor to improve the operation of instruments. The 0 to 120 Hz components were detected by the amorphous sensor and sensitivity was high. By comparison, the Apex cordis beat (0 to 5 Hz) was not detected by the conventional acceleration transducer and detection sensitivity for the 30 to 60 Hz components was low. It was also found that distinction between noise patterns, phonocardiograph signal to noise ratio and other features were much better using the amorphous sensor than when the conventional acceleration transducer was used.
