Abstract
Read-out characteristics of a compound type head with excellent recording characteristics were studied. It was found that the magnetization gradient and residual magnetization both decreased as the depth of the media increased, and that the requirements of permeability and saturation flux density for low-saturation flux density films are not hard to satisfy. With its low-saturation flux density layer, read-out characteristics in this compound head were as good as those in other types of heads.
