Abstract
The topics discussed include undergraduate studies at Tampere University of Technology, the student preference for power engineering, post-graduate studies, continuous education, cooperation in power system engineering research, and future plans. At present Tampere University educates approximately one-half of the diploma engineers majoring in power engineering in Finland. This popularity is due to the well-planned basic course, close contacts to utilities and industries, interesting research areas, comparatively modern laboratories, and young teachers
