Abstract :
Magnetostriction in a GdFeCo thin film, produced by replacing a part of the Fe in the GdFe film with Co was measured to determine its contribution to the perpendicular anisotropy of amorphous films. Comparison with previously reported results showed that adding rare earth metals and metaloid elements to FeCo polycrystal to make it amorphous exerts a powerful influence on ¿s.
