Abstract :
Magnetostrictive film with high adhesion coated onto a shaft surface by the wire explosion spraying method was studied for applications to noncontact torque sensors. A two-core type magnetic multivibrator was constructed from magnetostrictive film produced by exploding 10 layers of Fe and Ni wire alternately for a composition close to Fe50Ni50. Torque output characteristics when the current and voltage were varied had very clean linearity.
