Abstract :
An optical multicarrier generation scheme based on sinusoidal amplitude-phase hybrid modulation that can be used in the S-, C- and L-bands is demonstrated. Employing a 12.5 GHz-spaced 320 to 360-channel multicarrier generator in each band realises a 1000-channel super-dense (SD) wavelength-division multiplexed (WDM) light source. Each carrier is shown to be able to support signal bit rates over 2.5 Gbit/s
