Abstract :
Amorphous magnetic films have unusually large Hall coefficients. We prepared Sm-Co amorphous films with planar or perpendicular magnetization, and studied the galvanomagnetic effect in these films. In this paper, we report on the Sm content dependence of the electrical resistivity ¿, the Hall resistivity ¿H, the Hall sensitivity S and the Hall voltage VHP-P. We found that ¿H is large because of the large saturation magnetization Ms and electrical resistivity ¿. The maximum value of ¿H is 9.0 ¿¿-cm, occuring at 15 at% Sm. We also studied the magnetoresistance of these films.
