Abstract
Noiseless electrical machinery has been required, but effective countermeasures to noise in electrical machinery have not yet been devised. The main factor causing noise and vibrations in transformers is the magnetostriction, which is very sensitive to stress and heat. This paper deals with analysis of the magnetostriction under an external load using the finite element method (FEM). The magnetostriction induced in a one-dimensional model by stress and magnetic flux densities is analyzed.
