Abstract :
Tracking requirements for a frequency-hopped spreadspectrum system with a view to application in mobile radio are investigated. Models characterizing Rician fading and multiple access or jamming environments are used to formulate signal detection probabilities. These determine the mean time to loss of lock. Optimized tracking in these environments is then considered.
