Abstract :
A model approximating the columnar structure in Co-Cr, Co-O and other films is used to derive the resulting shape anisotropy energy Kueff. The derived results are evaluated by comparing the predicted temperature dependence of the anisotropy energy with experimental data for Co-O films.
