Abstract :
Ge was substituted in Co-substituted garnet film with no composition disparity to introduce Ge quadrivalent ions to compensate for the charges of the Co2+ ions. Co substitution increases the crystallization temperature while Ge substitution has the reverse effect. Faraday rotation coefficient measurements confirmed the existence of Co divalent ions in tetrahedral sites.
