Abstract :
Fabrication of multilayered garnet films for magneto-optical recording by the pyrolysis method was investigated. It was found that stress due to differences in thermal expansion coefficients of the bottom layer and substrate reduce the perpendicular anisotropy of the magnetic layer. It was concluded that each layer should be individually crystallized to reduce the influence of dispersion between the layers. This also makes it possible to grow each layer exactly according to design.
