Abstract :
Multiple pole magnetization of Mn-Al-C permanent magnets was studied experimentally and in FEM calculations. The cases of 8, 24- and 48-pole magnetization were treated, and flux densities determined by Hall probe measurements. Calculations agreed well with measured values, which indicated that fairly strong surface flux densities can be achieved even for larger numbers of magnetic poles.
