Abstract
The authors discuss orthogonal sparse vector methods for row-oriented Givens rotations, the form of orthogonalization most suitable for power system state estimation. The methods can speed up orthogonal estimation algorithms in several ways. The orthogonal sparse vector theory is described. An incremental formulation of the state estimation problem is presented. The orthogonal fast forward operations and the incremental formulation are integrated to develop an adaptive localization scheme for state estimation. Test results on two networks are presented
