Abstract :
Polarisation degradation of the crosstalk isolation of 1480/1550 singlemode WDMs can be controlled by increasing the width of the tapered coupler waist. The technique is simple and does not involve any disturbance of the WDM channel wavelengths after coupler fabrication.
