Abstract :
This paper reviews state-of-the-art progress with respect to MW wind generator-converter configurations, wind farm configurations and grid code compliance methods. Four categories of generator-converter configurations have been identified and analyzed based on component count, modularity, reliability, converter/control complexity, device voltage stress, operation voltage, and achievable power levels.
