            Abstract :
Congestion in the USA´s air transportation system is a major national problem - worse yet, it is likely to increase (perhaps to the point of crisis) in the next few years. This is a very complex problem, yet, with the aid of appropriate software tools, it is feasible to involve undergraduate students in sophisticated research projects that could help illuminate this complex system´s workings.
