Abstract
The leakage rate and the scanning ability of composite right/left-handed transmission line based leaky-wave antennas (LWA) is investigated. It is demonstrated how the leakage rate is altered with unit-cells of different sizes. It is observed that the LWA with smaller unit-cells exhibits lower rate of leakage and higher gain at a cost of reduced bandwidth.
