Abstract :
The intensified charge coupled devices pictures of the surface barrier discharge excited by 8-kHz pulsed voltage in helium at pressure of 1 bar and 100 mbar are displayed. The pictures are taken with a gate time of 100 ns and are synchronized with rise or drop of the voltage pulses. The mechanisms of the discharge development are discussed.
